HISTORY: The name Uriel means 'Fire of God'. In Christian apocrophal literature, Uriel guards the Gate of Eden with a flaming sword. He is the Angel of Repentance, who holds the keys to the Pit in the End Times, and is as pitiless as any demon. In Jewish tradition it was Uriel who wrestled with Jacob, and who passed through Egypt checking for the blood of the lamb on the doorposts.
