Parthenon Steed Wall Relief
HISTORY:   The 5th Century B.C. Original of this scene was the Procession frieze encircling the calla of the Parthenon Temple, on the Acropolis of Athens. The original frieze, depicting a procession of the citizens of Athens, was 500 feet long and 3 feet tall.  Most of the original frieze is now in the British Museum in London. This fragmment of the frieze shows a single horseman holding his spirited steed in check while he prepares to mount.  It is a scene filled with action and movement, and makes a wonderful accent for a man's office or a Greek restaurant, or a great gift for a horse lover.
